A vibrant and spicy guacamole recipe that combines ripe avocados with zesty lime juice, fiery Sriracha, and fresh vegetables. Perfect for a quick appetizer or snack, this guacamole offers a flavorful kick and creamy texture in just 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Guacamole Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados (halved, seeded and scooped)
  • 2 limes (juiced)
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion (about 1 small onion)
  • 1 jalapeno pepper (seeded and diced, leave some seeds in for extra heat)
  • 2 Roma tomatoes (seeded and diced)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)

Instructions

  1. Combine Avocados and Lime Juice: In a large bowl, toss the scooped avocados with the fresh lime juice to prevent browning and add brightness to the guacamole.
  2. Mash the Avocados: Using a fork or a potato masher, mash the avocados until you reach your desired consistency, smooth or chunky.
  3. Season the Mash: Add kosher salt, ground cumin, and Sriracha to the mashed avocados, mixing thoroughly to evenly distribute the flavors and spice.
  4. Incorporate Vegetables and Herbs: Fold in the diced red onion, jalapeno, Roma tomatoes, chopped cilantro, and minced garlic carefully, keeping the texture chunky and fresh.
  5. Rest and Serve: Let the guacamole sit at room temperature for 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld before serving for the best taste experience.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of Sriracha depending on your spice preference.
  • Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor and to prevent browning of the avocado.
  • If preparing ahead, cover tightly with plastic wrap pressed against the surface to minimize air exposure and refrigerate.
  • To make it milder, remove all the jalapeno seeds; for more heat, leave them in.
  • Serve with tortilla chips, fresh vegetables, or as a topping for tacos and burritos.
