Ingredients

Wet Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup unsalted butter (170 grams)
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter (about 270 grams)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (250 grams)
  • 2 cups light brown sugar (420 grams)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Add-ins

  • 3/4 cup Reese's Pieces (about 140 grams)
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips (about 120 grams)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) to ensure it reaches the right temperature for baking the blondies evenly.
  2. Prepare Pan: Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal, or lightly grease the pan to prevent sticking.
  3. Melt Butter and Peanut Butter: In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter and peanut butter together. When nearly melted, stir well until the mixture is smooth and uniform.
  4. Add Sugar and Eggs: Whisk the brown sugar into the peanut butter mixture until combined. Then add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking continuously until the mixture is smooth and free of egg streaks.
  5. Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Gently fold in the all-purpose flour and salt until no flour streaks or lumps remain, being careful not to overmix to keep the blondies tender.
  6. Fold in Add-ins: Gently fold the Reese's Pieces and chocolate chips into the batter to distribute them evenly throughout.
  7. Fill and Spread Batter: Pour or spoon the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread the top evenly with a spatula for a smooth surface.
  8. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the top is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs. For less gooey bars, extend baking time up to 35 minutes according to your preference.
  9. Cool and Slice: Allow the blondies to cool completely in the pan. Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the blondies out of the pan or slice directly if greased. Chill or cool for at least 2 1/2 hours to set; the chocolate and Reese’s Pieces may remain melty but the bars will hold their shape well.

Notes

  • For easier removal, use parchment paper with an overhang to lift blondies out of the pan.
  • Baking time can be adjusted slightly depending on your desired level of gooeyness.
  • Use a sharp knife warmed under hot water and dried for cleaner slicing.
  • Store blondies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
