Million Dollar Deviled Eggs are a rich and creamy twist on classic deviled eggs, featuring a luscious filling made from mayo, softened butter, two types of mustard, sweet pickle juice, sugar, and a hint of Tabasco. Topped with paprika and optional crispy bacon or a slice of sweet gherkin pickle, these deviled eggs make an indulgent appetizer perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Eggs

  • 12 large eggs

Filling

  • ¼ cup mayo
  • 1 Tablespoon butter (softened to room temperature)
  • 2 teaspoons yellow mustard
  • 2 teaspoons dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons sweet gherkin pickle juice
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon pepper
  • dash Tabasco sauce (optional)

Toppings

  • paprika (for sprinkling)
  • bacon pieces (optional)
  • small slice of sweet gherkin pickle (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Hard Boil Eggs: Place the 12 large eggs in a large saucepan and cover them fully with water. Transfer the pan to the stovetop and bring the water to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, let boil for 1 minute then cover the pan with a lid and remove it from heat. Let the eggs sit in the hot water for 17 minutes to cook through.
  2. Cool and Peel Eggs: After 17 minutes, drain the hot water and immediately transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool. Once cooled, peel the eggs carefully and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Filling: Slice each egg in half lengthwise. Remove the yolks and place them into a medium-sized mixing bowl. Add ¼ cup mayo, 1 tablespoon softened butter, 2 teaspoons each of yellow and dijon mustard, 2 teaspoons sweet gherkin pickle juice, 1 teaspoon sugar, ⅛ teaspoon salt, ⅛ teaspoon pepper, and a dash of Tabasco sauce if using. Mash all ingredients together well with a fork until smooth and creamy.
  4. Fill Egg Whites: Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into each egg white half evenly, filling each cavity generously.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle the filled eggs with paprika for color and flavor. Optionally, add crispy bacon pieces on top or a small slice of sweet gherkin pickle for extra zest and crunch. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • For perfectly cooked eggs, do not skip the resting time in hot water and cooling in ice bath.
  • Butter adds richness and a silky texture to the filling; make sure it is softened to room temperature before mixing.
  • Adjust the sweetness and tanginess by varying the amount of pickle juice and sugar to taste.
  • Bacon and pickle garnishes are optional but add a delicious contrast to the creamy filling.
  • These deviled eggs can be made a few hours ahead and kept refrigerated before serving.
