Soft and lightly caramelized, the pears are gently baked with fragrant cinnamon, pure maple syrup, and vanilla extract, enhancing their natural sweetness. Served warm and optionally topped with maple almond granola and plain Greek yogurt, this recipe offers a healthy yet indulgent treat ready in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Fruit

  • 4 large pears (or 6 medium pears)

Spices & Flavorings

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Sweetener

  • 1/2 cup (120ml) pure maple syrup

Optional Toppings

  • Maple almond granola
  • Plain Greek yogurt

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare baking surface: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray a large baking pan or line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking. Set aside.
  2. Prepare pears: Cut the pears in half. Using a large or medium cookie scoop, melon baller, or spoon, carefully core out the seeds from each pear half. Arrange the pears cut-side up on the prepared baking pan or sheet. Evenly sprinkle the pears with ground cinnamon, adding more if desired.
  3. Make maple syrup mixture: In a small bowl, whisk together the pure maple syrup and vanilla extract until well combined. Drizzle this mixture evenly over the arranged pears.
  4. Bake the pears: Place the baking pan in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for about 25 minutes. Bake until the pears are soft and beginning to brown lightly on the edges. If the pears are very firm, bake a few minutes longer as needed.
  5. Serve and store: Remove the baked pears from the oven and serve warm. Optionally, top with maple almond granola and plain Greek yogurt for added texture and creaminess. Cover and refrigerate any leftovers for up to 5 days.
