Brazilian Lemonade is a refreshing and creamy citrus beverage made with fresh limes, cold water, granulated sugar, and sweetened condensed milk. This unique twist on traditional lemonade blends whole lime wedges for a tart and tangy flavor, balanced by the sweetness and creaminess of condensed milk. Perfect for hot days, this drink is quick to prepare and delightfully frothy.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 6 cups cold water
  • 5 limes, cut into wedges
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk (or more to taste)
  • Ice for serving

Instructions

  1. Blend Lime Mixture: Into a blender, add the cold water, lime wedges, and granulated sugar. Blend until smooth and the lime wedges are fully blended, releasing their juices and oils.
  2. Strain the Juice: Place a fine mesh strainer over a bowl and pour the blender contents into the strainer, capturing the liquid below in the bowl. Discard the lime pulp and solids left in the strainer.
  3. Rinse Blender and Add Condensed Milk: Rinse out the blender to remove any pulp residue. Pour the strained lime juice mixture back into the clean blender. Add the sweetened condensed milk.
  4. Blend Until Frothy: Blend again until the mixture is smooth and frothy, ensuring the condensed milk is fully incorporated.
  5. Serve: Fill glasses with ice and pour the Brazilian lemonade over the ice. Garnish with fresh lime slices if desired. Serve immediately for best flavor and refreshment.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sweetened condensed milk according to taste.
  • Use fresh limes for the best citrus flavor and aroma.
  • Do not blend too long to avoid excessive bitterness from lime pith.
  • This drink is best served immediately to enjoy its fresh and frothy texture.
  • For a fizzy version, substitute some water with sparkling water.
