This Bang Bang Brussels Sprouts recipe offers a crispy and spicy twist on a classic vegetable side dish. Roasted to golden perfection and coated with a creamy, tangy, and sweet chili sauce with a kick of Sriracha, these Brussels sprouts make a delicious appetizer or side that’s sure to impress.

Ingredients

Brussels Sprouts

  • 2 pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Bang Bang Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Using two baking sheets is recommended if needed to avoid overcrowding, which ensures the sprouts roast crisp rather than steam.
  2. Prepare Brussels Sprouts: In a large bowl, toss the trimmed and halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil and garlic powder. Season them generously with salt and pepper. Spread the sprouts evenly on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer for even roasting.
  3. Roast Brussels Sprouts: Place the baking sheet in the oven and roast the sprouts for 20 minutes, allowing them to start crisping and browning.
  4. Make Bang Bang Sauce: While the sprouts roast, combine the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and Sriracha sauce in a small bowl, stirring well to create the spicy, creamy Bang Bang sauce.
  5. Coat and Finish Roasting: After the initial 20 minutes, remove the sprouts from the oven. Drizzle 1/4 cup of the Bang Bang sauce over them and gently toss to coat. Return the coated sprouts to the oven and roast an additional 10 to 15 minutes until they are deeply browned and crispy.
  6. Serve: Remove from oven and serve immediately with the remaining Bang Bang sauce on the side for dipping, enhancing the spicy, creamy flavor experience.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, avoid overcrowding the baking sheets when roasting the Brussels sprouts.
  • Adjust the amount of Sriracha in the Bang Bang sauce to control the level of spiciness.
  • This recipe can be easily doubled if serving a larger crowd; just use additional baking sheets to ensure even roasting.
  • Leftover Bang Bang sauce makes a great dip for other roasted vegetables or grilled meats.
  • To make it gluten-free, verify sweet chili sauce is gluten-free, as some brands may contain gluten.
