This Air Fryer Mushrooms recipe is a quick and flavorful way to prepare tender, juicy mushrooms with a perfectly roasted texture. Coated in soy sauce, vegetable oil, and aromatic rosemary, these mushrooms make a delicious side dish or snack, ready in just 20 minutes using your air fryer.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cremini (chestnut) mushrooms
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons low sodium soy sauce (or tamari sauce)
  • 1 sprig rosemary
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Slice the Mushrooms: Cut the mushrooms into thick slices by halving them or cutting into smaller even pieces if needed, ensuring uniform size for even cooking.
  2. Toss Ingredients Together: In a medium bowl, combine the sliced mushrooms with vegetable oil, soy sauce, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Toss well so that all mushrooms are evenly coated.
  3. Load the Air Fryer Basket: Place the coated mushrooms directly into the air fryer basket without preheating.
  4. Air Fry the Mushrooms: Cook at 350°F (180°C) for about 15 minutes, flipping or shaking the basket halfway through to promote uniform cooking.
  5. Check and Continue Cooking: Open the basket every 5 minutes to shake or stir the mushrooms. Continue cooking until they are tender and nicely cooked but not dried out or burnt.
  6. Serve: Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately. Optionally, garnish with extra sea salt flakes and red chili flakes for added flavor.

Notes

  • Cut mushrooms evenly to ensure uniform cooking.
  • Adjust cooking time based on your air fryer model and desired doneness.
  • Use low sodium soy sauce to control saltiness.
  • Rosemary can be substituted or omitted based on preference.
  • Optionally garnish with chili flakes or sea salt flakes for extra taste and texture.
